To backup any dvds with DVD Decrypter, PgcEdit (PSL plugins + FixVTS), VobBLanker & Nero Recode 2 by Alkohol
For ARccOS or RipGuard issues<> To backup any dvds with DVD Decrypter, PgcEdit (PSL plugins + FixVTS), VobBLanker & Nero Recode 2 by Alkohol <>
Here is another flawless method (possibly one of the best method ever) to rip and backup any dvds (movies) regardless if it's Sony's ARccOS or Macrovision's RipGuard . Again, no AnyDVD, no DVD43, no DVDIdle Pro, no DVD Region + Free CSS, no glitches, no black screens, etc.
**NOTE: this guide (tutorial) is for backing up the movie(s) that you owned only.
**NOTE: This method will take longer, but it's flawless and you're more than likely to have a successfully backup 100% without any hassles whatsoever. And of course, you can use this guide for any new dvds/movies that you owned. I GUARANTEE YOU!
For this tutorial or guide, I will use the new LEGEND OF ZORRO "2006" (US version, Region 1) . Yes, LEGEND OF ZORRO has the latest protection from Sony's ARccOS . So, if you're trying to rip it with DVD Decrypter alone or DVD Shrink, then you are likely to fail the ripping process because both DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink can no longer handle any of the latest encrypted protections.
Things to remember: make sure you use "high quality media" like genuie Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim "advanced azo or datalife plus", Maxell (made in Japan by Hitachi) or Ritek . In addition, make sure your burner has the latest firmware up-to-date. Go here [ link ] for more info regarding firmware updates.
<><> Tools needed <><>
<> DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0
<> Nero Recode 2
<> VobBlanker 2.1.0.0 [ link ] (may not needed, but it's useful to have)
<> PgcEdit 0.6.3.1 or higher [ link ]
<> PSL plugins + FixVTS (v2.14) [ link ]
<> STEP 1 <>
<> Rip the dvd (movie) with PgcEdit via PSL plugins WIZARD and DVD Decrypter <>
<> Now insert the original dvd (LEGEND OF ZORRO) into your dvd burner or dvd-rom drive.

Once FixVTS is done processing, DVD Shrink should launch automatically (if you have DVD Shrink installed on your computer). Now you can close PgcEdit and continue on with DVD Shrink as your usual transcoding process.
<> SETP 2 (PART A) For VobBLanker only (not necessary needed, but it's useful and powerful) <>
**NOTE: FEEL FREE TO SKIP THIS PROCESS (STEP). This is strickly if DVD Shrink failed to transcode the movie only. However, keep in mind that VobBlanker 2.1.0.0 is very "powerful and useful", it can easily "blank" out those 2 annoying FBI Warnings, or any unwanted "trailers/previews" or unnecessary scenes, so your final VIDEO_TS file is smaller (it will gives you more quality in the end) or only if you're a VobBlanker user(s) like me.

<> STEP 2 (Part B) For DVD Shrink <>
<> Transcode or compress the movie with DVD Shrink or Nero Recode 2 (your choice) <>
**NOTE: Again, for this guide, I will use Nero Recode 2 because it's much faster than DVD Shrink that's all. The choice is yours -- you can use DVD Shrink, Nero Recode 2 or DVD Rebuilder Pro + CCE SP.

<> STEP 2 (Part C) For Nero Recode 2 <>
<> This is for Nero Recode 2 guide only, you can disregard anything from here on if you're using DVD Shrink <>
**NOTE: for this movie (LEGEND OF THE ZORRO), I will transcode a "full disc". The choice is yours, either "Recode Main Movie only or Recode the Entire/full disc".

That's it... enjoy the guide, best of lucks to all and happy burning!!
